THE INTERNATIONAL“ MARCO POLO FEST „ , festival of song and wine- Korčula 1996 is a traditional Croatian festival.It became such in honour of 700th anniversary of return of inhabitant of Korčula- Marco Polo, famous passenger,author, merchant,explorer of Far East and diplomat at the court of Cublai Chan.
For this project created with a lot of enthusiasm and audicity, a great interest of Croatian as well as the world publicity has been shown.That leads to the INTERNATIONAL MARCO POLO FESTIVAL OF SONG AND WINE.
Within 10 years of existence the INTERNATIONAL „ MARCO POLO FESTIVAL“ ,festivalof song and wine, leaves behind itself a spirit of Dalmatian,Croatian, Mediterranean surrounding.By its openess, it opens possibility to all goodwill people to spread the best deed by winds of Korčula all over the world.Come and persuade yourself of an immense harmony of natural beauty of eden of Korčula.The pearly islands, genuine beaches,marvellous bays,vineyards,olive groves,dense pine woods,song and wine, sun and sea and „Nomen est omen“ of Korčula are waiting for you.

KORČULA IS A PEARL OF THE SEA“ and other titels speak a lot about Korčula.It hasn`t been irrelevant to be a cradle and an insight of Greek-Roman,Illyrian-Venetian,European and world cultural heritage for already a thousand of years.The island of Korčula doesn`t emigrate but having a rich cultural historic tradition,the most singing island deserves surely this special,original and world festival.
THE INTERNATIONAL „MARCO POLO FEST“ festival of song and wine consists of two final and one international evening: „THE SONG AND WINE“,“LIGHT MELODY“ and „MELODY OF MARCO POLO“.At the very beginning, shortly before the festival evening there is so-called „FEAST OF WINE“ which the producers of wine from all over the world have a right to compete in.The jury is consisted of professionals and wine experts.Entertainers that is performers,actors,singers and representatives of countries,participants of festival have also a right of wine tasting.
In the programme,on the INTERNATIONAL „MARCO POLO FEST“festival of song and wine
