MISS Marco Polo FEST
At the meeting held on 12 th January 2004 the organising commitee of Marco Polo Festival,under the leadership of director Ivan Šegedin decided that
in memory on beautiful Korkyra, Ezop`s daughter- who throughout a long history the island itself was name after (Korkyra Nigra meaning „Black Korčula“) by old Greeks- the third International Marco Polo Miss Election would be held.Having competitive traits,International Marco Polo Festival would comprise, except for the song and wine, the contest of beauty election.In this case beauty shouldn`t be left out at all as the island of Korčula is not only known for its historic sights,qualitative and authentic song,wine olive oil and other economic features that condition life and development of the most populated island.
Therefore,evaluating the elements of island of Korčula from 2004 Marco Polo Festival of Song and Wine will be called Marco Polo Festival of Song,Wine and Beauty.
In this case each year in January the organizer will announce the competition for the beauty contest that will take place on summer stage of town of Korčula within Marco Polo Festival every year.Girls,at age from 15 to 20 from all around the world can enter a contest for MISS election of Marco Polo Festival.For girls who are juveniles, the concord and signature of teir parents will be demanded in order to enter Marco Polo Festival.By the end of performance of Marco Polo Festival,it will not have any requiremants of girls elected for te contest or vice versa.

During the performance of Marco Polo Festival, the acommodation and food will be provided for the girls chosen for final election,as well as some worthy awards for four best placed girls.
MISS Marco Polo Festival will be awarded by a travelling „Tiara“ and a „Scooter“ while the first and the second runner-up and MISS photogenic will be given the awards of our sponsor:a mobile phone,a weekend lodging in one of hotels,a medallion“Marco Polo“ and so on.The girls of the final election are supposed to come two days before the contest in Korčula,town of Marco Polo in order to practice a choreography of show and to train themselves how to appear on the stage as well as to enjoy company.
